Pacquiao Stuns Hatton, Shuts a Full Mouth
Manny Pacquiao came into the ring with a smile, knowing he has trained well for the fight. He knelt down on his corner praying not just for his win but that no fighter might get badly hurt.
The bell rings. The boxers charged. Ricky Hatton came with his signature: hugging his opponent to get closer with his body shots; Manny came in with his own: handspeed that do the talking inside the ring and shuts the full mouths blabbering and boasting outside it.
For Manny, boxing must be won with punches. Not with hugs.
While a storm is battering the eastern Philippine seas on a summer day, Pacquiao's hands tornadoed Hatton to deck him twice on the first round.
Hatton came on the 2nd already demoralized but still with a drive to come back. Pacquiao knows he has the advantage and waits for the kill. He sees his opponent's hands down, leaving the chin open. Within the last ten seconds of the 2nd round, Manny lands a brutal punch that sends Ricky thudding down the canvass.
Fight is over.
We want to hear the bravado of Floyd Mayweather, calling Freddie a cockroach.
Pacquiao's left decks Hatton and shuts FM's full mouth to silence.
